So I finally got to weigh myself after I got unpacked in San Diego. The official weigh in... 163 lbs. So this is my starting point and we will see if I can get to where I want to be :) Today I'm going for a walk with a friend down at that park and tomorrow I'm going to start some exercise videos that I have. I'm still looking for a job so I must make do without a gym pass for a while.
I'm doing pretty well with eating healthy which is a step in the right direction. Plus I'm loving life back here in the real world.
Hope your goals are coming along amazing!
Peace and junk,
Jess

Day five...when can i get on track?
It seems like I will never be able to get on track with my goals but maybe once I'm finally settled back in San Diego things will be a lot easier. Tomorrow I start the drive from Boise, ID to San Diego, CA. That means two days in a car eating fast food and zero exercise. As soon as I arrive there on Monday night I hope to be posting my first official weigh in and some measurements.
I'm still not eating well but I did get in a salad tonight so thats a step in the right direction. I am going to try and cut out fast food when I get home so that I can cut out a lot of calories per week. I usually eat fast food a couple times a week and its just not healthy things. I don't expect to never go out to dinner at a restaurant but those type of places offer options that can be lower in calories and fat than burgers and fast food tacos.
I'm not sure if I will update this until Monday night or Tuesday because of the drive down but after that we should be really rolling.
peace and roses

Day Three gets exciting
Well I think that I was right about new things to come for the new year. I have been thinking about my goal a lot and I'm still excited to finally conquer it. However its going to have to wait about a week to really get going as I need to relocate AGAIN. I am moving back to San Diego on Sunday and hope that the 16 hours of driving can bring me some clarity about why my ex is being such a jerk to me.
I am doing my best to eat healthy at least but I'm so stressed from the bad vibes with the ex and the move that I can't eat much at all which I know is bad too. It supposedly slows down your metabolism if you don't eat on a regular basis because your body gets used to not digesting food. If your metabolism is poor it makes it hard to lose weight.
You win this round Keleigh, you get a head start at dedication to this goal. But I will prevail. I love new clothes and bathing suits are always so expensive it will be nice to get a brand new one in a new size for free. Having incentives for a goal is a great motivator. I think that when I lose one size I will buy my self some new jeans as a half way present to myself. That way it doesn't take so long to get a little gratification.
In other non-related news: I am halfway through Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. For some reason "young adult" fiction helps me to get outside of myself and be in a different world for a while. Its an interesting story based on classical Greek mythology and it has a rather interesting plot as well. The first one of the series was good as well.

Day One
So yesterday my best friend Keleigh and I decided that we wanted to have a small competition to help motivate us to get fit! We have both been struggling with eating healthy and losing the weight that we gained after going to college and I think now is the perfect time to begin truly working on this goal.
We have 100 days starting today for this challenge we have set up for ourselves. We will eat healthy (no crazy dieting) and exercise more while trying to out do the other in weight loss. At the end of 100 days which will be May 1st we have out final weigh in to see who has outdone the other. The lesser winner (cause we both win if we get even slightly more fit than we are now) get the privilege of buying a new bathing suite of the winner's choice.
Now neither of us really need to lose lots of weight so we have a goal that if met before May first will also end the competition. We both wear size 11 jeans right now and if either of us reaches a size 7 jean, with approval from the competitor and both of our moms, they will win automatically.
I know that I have been trying to reach this size 7 goal for almost two years with only half assed effort. So 100 days will be a real challenge for me to achieve this goal. Then there is the issue of keeping the weight off once I'm where I'd like to be.
The new year is going to bring changes for my life including moving and trying to find a real job now that I'm a "college graduate." I think it is the perfect time to start working on myself and some personal goals that I have just never had the time to dedicate myself to before. This competition with my bestest is just the beginning. I also want to learn Greek and finish a scrapbook that I started in high school. Both require money so the first thing is to land a job. I have an application in for the entry level job of my dreams right now so keep your fingers crossed for me and send good vibes my way because I'm hoping to hear about it within the week.
Maybe you should challenge someone in your life to achieve a goal together. :) Its always more fun when you do it with friends or family.
Thats it for now...time to make a cob salad for lunch.
Love and roses,
Jessica
